The Sun reports that during the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 14, 2022, 62-year-old Joseph Vesely was driving a 1997 Silverado when he was struck by a 2021 Freightliner truck in Jonesboro, AR. The tractor-trailer ran a red light at Kathleen Street and Prospect Road, driving Vesley’s truck into three different vehicles. Tragically, Mr. Vesely succumbed to his injuries.

Liability Analysis:

Legal contributor Attorney Brian Mickelsen, an experienced truck accident lawyer, represents victims injured or killed in semi-truck accidents. Below, Attorney Mickelsen shared his insight into the legal options available to victims injured in commercial truck accidents.

“Based on the news articles, this is a clear-cut liability case. A semi-truck ran a stop sign (or red light) and collided with Vesely’s vehicle, causing his death. This investigation, however, does not stop here. Questions remain why the driver of the tractor-trailer ran the stop sign. Did he fall asleep? Was he under the influence of alcohol or drugs? Was he distracted by his phone or an other device? There are a variety of factors that drive up the value of the case.”
